Hard Candy, sold exclusively at Walmart, will be offering its Kal-eye-descope and Meteor-eyes baked shadows with a mini eye shadow primer at no additional cost between September and November. Hard Candy eye shadow primer, although not sold as an individual product, has achieved cult status among Hard Candy aficionados. Previously, this product only was available attached on the In The Shadows collection.
For the same period, Sheer Envy Face primer will be sold with a mini plumping serum in light pink Girl Next Door. In addition, Mouthing Off, a favorite gloss, will be paired with a glittering black Walk the Line liner in Asphalt and Hot Smudge.
Continental Fragrances—whose hair care brands include Salon Grafix, Giga.hold and High Beams—has announced a private equity infusion from CID Capital that will enable the company to accelerate new product introductions and leverage its brand equity. Scott Petchul, company co-founder and new CEO of Continental Fragrances, and his team will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of the company.
Procter & Gamble’s Head & Shoulders hair care brand is taking out a $1 million insurance policy on Pittsburgh Steelers safety and brand spokesman Troy Polamalu’s hair. Together with insurance agency Watkins Syndicate at Lloyd’s of London, the brand has created the first-ever insurance policy to protect Polamalu’s thick Samoan locks for the NFL season. His hair even has its own website, TroysHair.com, where fans can win prizes while learning about his secret weapon: Head & Shoulders Hair Endurance for Men.
