A supermarket that was at one time the largest U.S. retailer could file for Chapter 11 by the end of the week in what is being described as a “pre-packaged” bankruptcy, which would divvy up the company’s best locations.
A&P spokespeople have reported that no decision has yet been made, "and it would be inaccurate and irresponsible to suggest otherwise,” The Post reported. “
However, A&P has already hired Evercore Partners, an investment bank that specializes in selling assets, according to the report.
