12/1/2014

TORONTO — Rexall’s EVP and CFO, Sharon Driscoll, was named a Women's Executive Network's 2014 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner, the Canadian retailer announced.

The Top 100 Awards recognize Canada's female leaders, who have become agents of change in reshaping Canadian organizations at the highest levels.

Driscoll joins an elite group of top 100 award winners that includes such women trailblazers as Roberta Bondar, astronaut; Arlene Dickinson, CEO, Venture Communications; Christine Magee, president, Sleep Country Canada; Kathleen Taylor, chair of the Royal Bank of Canada; and Michaëlle Jean, former governor general of Canada.

"It is a humbling experience to be recognized alongside so many outstanding Canadian women that have worked hard and achieved great things both professionally and personally," said Driscoll.  "I am deeply honored to receive this award."

Co-Presented by Scotiabank and KPMG, the awards celebrate and highlight professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors at a time when corporate Canada is undergoing pressure to promote more female leaders into board and executive office positions.

"Despite ever-changing styles and tastes, great leadership is timeless," said WXN founder Pamela Jeffery. "Top 100 Award Winners are a testament to the incredible range of female talent and leadership in Canada and proof that change is happening, with more women earning a place at the highest levels of Canadian  organizations."

"In her role as chief financial officer for Katz Group Canada Ltd. (Rexall), Ms. Driscoll is a key member of the executive leadership team, and has made significant contributions to the management and strategic direction of the organization. We are fortunate to have her on our team, and very proud of this well deserved recognition," said Warren Jeffery, COO of Katz Group Canada Ltd. (Rexall).
