Rite Aid partners with Children's Miracle Network

CAMP HILL, Pa. Beginning March 28, Rite Aid customers can support their local Children's Miracle Network hospital by buying $1 paper Miracle balloons, Rite Aid announced Thursday. Every penny raised goes directly to Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children's hospitals, Rite Aid added.

Customers who donate $1 will receive $7 in coupon offers. Rite Aid hopes to raise $5.4 million for Children's Miracle Network during its 16th annual campaign running through May 15.

"Our Children's Miracle Network campaign is just one of the ways Rite Aid associates demonstrate our core value of being a caring neighbor," stated Mary Sammons, Rite Aid chairman and CEO. "I'm confident that their creativity coupled with their passion for Children's Miracle Network will help us to meet our goal of $5.4 million this year."

Last year, Rite Aid associates raised $5.2 million for Children's Miracle Network. Since 1994, Rite Aid has raised more than $41 million.

In addition to selling $1 paper Miracle Balloons, Rite Aid associates host special events throughout the year to raise funds for the charity including antique car shows, garden and flower sales and a beautiful baby contest.

Last year, a store manager in Cassopolis, Mich., organized a male beauty pageant, raising $1,000. At the company's headquarters in Camp Hill, Pa., executives washed associates' cars and competed in a series of sporting events, raising more than $130,000 for the local children's hospital.
