Safeway names SVP consumer brands

PLEASANTON, Calif. Safeway on Tuesday named Joseph Ennen as SVP consumer brands. He will oversee the company’s corporate brands organization, including its marketing, finance and outside sales function.

“[Ennen’s] extensive CPG experience and track record as a marketer and innovator make him uniquely suited to lead Safeway’s consumer brands business,” stated Mike Minasi, Safeway’s president of marketing.

Ennen comes to Safeway after four years at the Frito-Lay Division of PepsiCo, first as VP core brands where he managed the Doritos, Tostitos and Cheetos lines, and most recently group VP innovation. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading the entire innovation development cycle for Frito Lay North America from identifying strategic opportunities to product launch.
