Sam's Club to host free health screenings in recognition of Men’s Health Month

6/9/2016

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - A new survey found that while 91% of men say maintaining their health is important to them, more than half (57%) say they only go to the doctor when there is a problem.

So what would incite more men to get a routine health checkup? In the same survey, 73% of men said they would be more likely to get a checkup if it was free and 56% would be more likely to get a checkup if they could go over the weekend. With this in mind and in recognition of Men’s Health Month, Sam’s Club announced Thursday that its pharmacy will host free health screenings for both members and the public on June 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last.

These health screenings are free, confidential and available to the public at all Sam’s Club locations with a pharmacy.

“While men are well known for avoiding the doctor, the truth is that many of them say their health is a priority and that they would get a checkup if it was more accessible,” stated Tara Raddohl, director, corporate communications, Sam’s Club. “We look forward to hosting these free health screenings as an easy way for men in the communities that we serve to learn more about the state of their health.”
