Sara Lee expands pound cake portfolio

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Sara Lee has refreshed its pound cake lineup.

The company has revamped its butter pound cake recipe, which now is more moist, and has introduced a lemon-flavored cake. The two varieties are part of a portfolio that also includes the lower-calorie Light and Dreamy pound cake, as well as pound cake slices (which come in original and double chocolate flavors).

The average suggested retail price for the regular size of Sara Lee pound cake products is $3.99. The butter pound cake also is available in family size, which carries an average suggested retail price of $5.39.
