Schnucks to carry InStoreProducts' germ-protected shopping bags

ST. LOUIS A Midwestern supermarket chain said Friday it was the first to offer reusable grocery bags with built-in protection from bacteria.

Schnucks announced that it will carry bags made by Mississauga, Ontario-based InStore Products made with Microban antimicrobial product protection in the interior lining. Microban prevents odors and stains from developing and allows the bags to be reused for longer periods of time.

“Once our customers take the bags home, the bags often take on additional uses such as lunch bags, book bags and even gym bags,” Schnucks category manager Justin Leazer said. “While the older bags could be washed and disinfected, this bag offers built-in protection to keep the bag cleaner for longer.”
