Schnucks selling cleaning products made by local businesses

ST. LOUIS A Midwestern supermarket chain has begun selling environmentally friendly cleaning products that it sources locally.

Schnuck Markets announced last week that it would sell cleaning products from Better Life, a company founded in June 2008 by childhood friends Tim Barklage and Kevin Tibbs in St. Louis, where the store chain is based. Better Life’s products, which include What-EVER! all-purpose cleaner, Simply Floored! floor cleaner and I Can See Clearly, WOW! window and glass cleaner, are made with natural and biodegradable ingredients.

“We screen hundreds of ingredients, choosing only the ones that are both effective and have the fastest and most complete biodegradability profiles,” Tibbs said in a statement. “Third-party tests certify that our products perform as well or better than the national brands.”
