GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Shopko Stores confirmed Monday that Executive Vice President of Retail at Andre Persaud has left the company.
Persaud joined Shopko Stores in April 2015 and oversaw the two retail divisions (Shopko and Hometown) and the health services division inclusive of pharmacy.
Prior to joining Shopko, he was Senior Vice President Store Operations at Burlington Stores based in Burlington, N.J. Prior to joining Burlington, he held various senior leadership roles at Loblaw Companies in Toronto over a three-year period. His drug store and pharmacy experience also includes seven years at Shoppers Drug Mart in progressive senior leadership roles. His career started at Walmart Canada as a staff pharmacist and over a period of eight years he assumed positions of increasing responsibility which resulted in him leading the drug store operations for Walmart Canada.
Persaud currently serves on the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Board of Directors.
Earlier this year Shopko projected continued growth over the next two years with the expected opening of additional stores in markets across the country.
“The rural population is grossly underserved by retailers, so we’re eager to bring Shopko Hometown to more communities,” said Peter McMahon, Shopko CEO. “We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers in our current hometown communities who tell us they appreciate the improved shopping experience and access to a broader, differentiated selection of merchandise, including products and brands previously not available in their community.”
Founded in 1962 and headquartered in Green Bay, Shopko Stores Operating Co., LLC is a $3 billion retailer that operates 372 stores in 25 states throughout the Central, Western and Pacific Northwest regions.
