Shoppers Drug Mart campaign raises money for women’s health orgs

9/14/2015

TORONTO — Shoppers Drug Mart launched its Growing Women’s Health campaign on Sept. 12 with a goal of raising $3.3 million for women’s health organizations. The campaign, which used to be called Tree of Life is in its 14th year and provides Shoppers Drug Mart customers the opportunity to purchase and personalize different icons — leaves, butterflies, apples and birds — for $1, $5, $10 and $50, respectively, that make up a tree in participating stores.

“The Growing Women's Health campaign offers patients, customers and employees the opportunity to donate directly to the organizations that make a difference to women's health in their own communities,” Shoppers Drug Mart’s director of community investment Lisa Gibbs said. “Tree of Life was launched in 2002 and we believe that the change in name better reflects the fact that each year our Associate-owners personally select a local women's health organization that best resonates with their community's needs.”

The campaign, which runs through Oct. 9, is also part of the company’s Shoppers LOVE YOU program, which is focused on helping women prioritize their health, and the organizations supported by each store are chosen by the company’s associate-owners, Shoppers Drug Mart said.
