NANAIMO, B.C. — Shoppers Drug Mart has partnered with the Canadian government to sponsor the Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health campaign for depression and suicide prevention among seniors, the company announced Monday.
New mental health resources, such as continuing education tools on depression and suicide, and two new brochures, are now available at Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies.
"Depression isn't easy for seniors to talk about, but your local Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacist can help," Mike Motz, president of Shoppers Drug Mart, said. "Thanks to new education and information available in our stores, our pharmacists can help seniors to detect symptoms of mental illness and access treatment.”
Shoppers Drug Mart also supports local women's mental health programs throughout Canada with the Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women and the Shoppers Drug Mart Ride Don't Hide biking event, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association.
