KEASBEY, N.J. -- ShopRite has launched a campaign to raise funds to benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.
From now through Nov. 26, ShopRite stores throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties will collect donations at checkout and host in-store events, activities and fundraisers to support the hospital, which provides care to more than 20,000 critically ill infants and children each year.
ShopRite says the funds raised will provide advanced pediatric care to thousands of local children, including those in need of open heart surgery, brain surgery, cancer treatments, trauma and burn care, organ transplants and more. To date, ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. has raised over $700,000 to benefit Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and its efforts.
“We are honored to continue our campaign for Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and raise funds to help local children and families within the communities our stores serve,” said Tom Urtz, vice president of operations, ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. “Charitable giving is a core value of our ShopRite team, and this campaign would not be a success without the drive from our store associates to implement in-store fundraisers, activities and events, along with the generosity of our customers, who make it possible to continue to support this wonderful organization.”
In addition to donations collected at checkout, ShopRite says it will lend its support during the 12th Annual 100.7 WHUD Radiothon For The Kids, cared for at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, which will take place Nov. 16-18. ShopRite representatives will participate in the Radiothon on Nov. 18 between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. and 100% percent of the funds raised will support the hospital and its efforts to care for local children battling complex medical conditions.
