Spartan Stores opens new D&W Fresh Market location

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Spartan Stores said it has “redefined” grocery shopping with the opening of a new D&W Fresh Market store at Knapp’s Crossing, a development in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The 50,000-sq.-ft. supermarket pharmacy includes a drive-through pharmacy, a 5% discount for seniors, a generic discount program and pagers to alert shoppers when their prescriptions are ready.

Elsewhere, the store has the typical selections one would find at a supermarket, as well as an outdoor fruit and vegetable market, made-to-order sushi and salads, teas sold by the ounce, a Greek olive bar, gelato, sorbet, an Old World Artisan bakery and an in-store Starbucks cafe.

“The new D&W Fresh, which offers more than 50% fresh food offerings, is the ultimate D&W Fresh Market experience, with an incredible variety of fresh foods and an exciting and state-of-the-art atmosphere,” store director Scott Stegink said.
