PURCHASE, N.Y. - Stop & Shop announced Friday it will complete its multi-million dollar conversion of 25 A&P stores in the Greater New York area when it opens the final acquired store on Nov. 19th in Mt. Kisco, N.Y.
"On behalf of Stop & Shop, I would like to welcome all of our new associates and to thank our entire team for their tremendous efforts to ensure a smooth transition just in time for all stores to be ready for Thanksgiving. I also greatly appreciate the patience of our customers who stood by us throughout the conversion process," stated Don Sussman, president of Stop & Shop New York Metro Division.
The grand opening of the Mt. Kisco store represents the final step in renovating and rebranding all 25 former A&P stores, which lasted only six weeks.
In celebration of the grand openings, Stop & Shop made a total charitable contribution of $50,000 to 25 local non-profit organizations that are aligned with the company's commitment to improve the lives of children, support hunger relief efforts and improve the health and wellness of customers.
