Supervalu debuts ‘Eating Healthy with Diabetes’

MINNEAPOLIS Supervalu is rolling out a program chainwide to help customers manage their diabetes. “Eating Healthy with Diabetes” debuted this week in all Supervalu pharmacies after a test run at its Jewel-Osco banner in Chicago.

The program features two-hour seminars that include a 90-minute tour through supermarket aisles with a dietician who teaches customers how to read food labels and make healthier diet choices. The seminars also explain the services available to diabetics at Supervalu pharmacies.

“Because many of the health conditions our pharmacists address can be controlled—or in some cases reversed—with a few simple dietary changes, our pharmacies are committed to a more holistic approach to pharmacy,” said Supervalu Pharmacy president Chris Dimos.
