PHOENIX — The Tummy Company on Monday announced the formation of a scientific advisory board composed of gastroenterology and pharmaceutical specialists to provide oversight of the new liquid antacid Relief OTC.
Headed by Adam Harris, assistant professor of medicine at Brown University, the group’s mission will be to bring scientific and clinical insights pertaining to heartburn research and relief in order to help guide product development.
“As Relief OTC expands its reach into heartburn sufferers’ medicine cabinets across the United States, we are highly aware of the importance of staying connected with the latest developments in the field,” said Jim Marini, president of The Tummy Company. “This group of distinguished professionals brings years of experience and a wellspring of knowledge to our team as we continue to gain momentum in the heartburn relief category.”
In addition to Harris, Relief OTC advisory board members include Barry Wiss, a 28-year gastroenterology veteran, and Mindi Fynke, president/CEO of EHIM, one of the 25 largest pharmacy benefit managers in the United States.
Hitting the shelves of CVS and Walgreens, among other retailers, in late May, the orange crème-flavored Relief OTC is available in 4-oz. and larger 12-oz. bottles. In addition to food and drug stores, the product in the blue-and-white bottle can be found on Amazon and drugstore.com.
