Upcoming Future Leaders Summit to examine attracting, developing the next generation of talent

4/12/2016

How do the very best brands and leading retailers create winning organizations, and attract, develop and keep the next generation of leadership?

Next month, an all-star lineup of high-impact speakers will share their best ideas and winning philosophies for attracting talent and leading in a hyper-competitive industry at the first-ever Future Leaders Summit, an exclusive leadership event co-produced by Drug Store News in partnership with the Mack Elevation Forum.

Slated for May 24 in Chicago, the exclusive, full-day summit’s agenda includes:

1. Harnessing a Knowledge Organization by Michelle Gloeckler, EVP consumables and health and wellness at Walmart

2. Do Well By Doing Good by David Simnick, co-founder and president of SoapBox

3. Leading with Heart by George Coleman, VP healthcare, pricing and business planning at CVS Health

4. Having Courage to Risk by Joe Magnacca, CEO of Massage Envy and former EVP Duane Reade, Walgreens

5. Who’s Your Mentor? by Chris Dimos, SVP, corporate strategy and business development at McKesson

6. Why Purpose Matters by Jason Reiser, chief merchant at Family Dollar.

“In the age of business disruption, we often talk about mobile, e-commerce, the impact of millennials, channel blurring and other trends to set your business strategy apart. But perhaps more so today than ever before, people matter,” said DSN group publisher Wayne Bennett. “Our event will explore the importance of the future leadership traits and characteristics needed to move your business forward in today’s fast-changing business environment.”

In addition to the roster of keynote speakers, the May 24 event also features two thought-leadership roundtable discussions. Moderated by event co-host and Mack Elevation Forum founder Dan Mack, the leadership track panel, “Leading in an era of disruption,” features:

  • Andrew Archambault, chief customer officer at U.S. Nutrition

  • Lisa Paley, chief customer officer at Pfizer Consumer Health Care

  • Kyle Stenzel, VP sales at Beiersdorf

  • Todd Hutsko, chief customer officer at C.B. Fleet

  • Carol Carrozza, VP marketing North America at Ansell

  • Bob Wiltz, chief customer officer at Paris Presents

  • Nick Rini, VP global sales at iHealth

  • Dennis Curran, chief customer officer at GSK Consumer Health Care

  • Kevin Brunory, VP - US and Canada at Blistex.

“Because of the speed of change, organizations need leaders who are agile, can learn on the fly, entrepreneurial and adaptable to different cultures,” Mack said. “The best organizations are getting faster, more competitive and smarter than their competitors. The Future Leaders Summit will discuss the skills and the mindset of tomorrow’s winning organizations and leaders.”

Emerson Group VP marketing Matt Poli will guest moderate the millennial track discussion. “Our industry is changing so rapidly, from the growth of e-commerce and the value channel to self-healthcare and the ever expanding mobile and digital economy; all driving dramatic shifts in how consumers acquire information, learn about products and make shopping decisions,” offered Poli. “For brands to succeed, managers need to stay ahead of trends, continuously learn and understand all the components that drive consumer engagement.”

Sponsored by the Emerson Group, the panel discussion “Leadership in the eyes of Millennials” features:

  • Bethany Edwards, a millennial entrepreneur currently in the process of launching a socially conscious, bio-degradable pregnancy test kit

  • Jason Loomis, paid media director at Vayner Media

  • Anne Cashman, brand manager at McNeil Consumer Healthcare

  • Joanna Haussmann, better known as the host of the Flama (Univision) video series “Joanna Rants,” which has collectively received more than 8 million views.
