Walgreens' customers contribute $20 million toward 'Red Nose Day'

6/8/2016

DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens earlier this week gave a shout out to all of its customers who helped raise $20 million as part of the company's annual Red Nose Day event, which raises funds in support of ending childhood poverty.

The event itself, which culminated in a comedy-driven two-hour telethon on NBC late last month, raised more than $31.5 million.

The money benefits the Red Nose Day Fund, which supports charities with domestic and international reach aimed at fighting childhood poverty, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America; charity:water; Children’s Health Fund; Covenant House; Feeding America; Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance; National Council of La Raza; National Urban League; Oxfam America; Save the Children; and The Global Fund.
