Walgreens offers gender prediction test for pregnant women

3/16/2009

DALLAS Expecting mothers now can determine the sex of their babies with the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test.

Nearly 6,700 Walgreens stores will carry the product, which allows pregnant women to determine the sex of their child by six weeks of pregnancy. The test provides results in 10 minutes.

"Most parents-to-be are curious about the gender of their baby, and we see the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test as a way for couples to share in the joy and intimacy of discovery together without having to wait 20 weeks for an ultrasound," said Rebecca Griffin, co-founder of IntelliGender. "Now, with availability at Walgreens, couples and moms-to-be nationwide will have access to the Gender Prediction Test."

While the test doesn't guarantee 100% accuracy, reported in-home results to date are approximately 82% (laboratory results proven over 90%).

The IntelliGender Gender Predicition Test is now available at Walgreens stores with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $34.95.
