Walmart’s SVP GMM to lead Susan G. Komen Ozark Race for the Cure

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — For Walmart SVP/GMM Consumables Latriece Watkins, Saturday’s 19th-annual Susan G. Komen Ozark Race for the Cure was something she had to lead.

This year's theme is "Honor a Hero, Be a Hero," and the 2017 race chair immediately thought of her hero.

“This year is about 25 years post my mom’s diagnosis with breast cancer,” Watkins told KNWA, recalling she was in high school when her mother Faye faced the fight of her life.

“She is a strong breast cancer survivor and I’m really proud of that and I’m really proud of her,” Watkins shared with the TV station. “It caused me to think back a little bit over the experience that we had.”

The 19th annual Susan G. Komen Ozark Race for the Cure will take place at the Pinnacle Hill Promenade in Rogers, Ark.
