Weis Markets to increase capital expenditure budget
SUNBURY, Pa. Weis Markets plans to invest $80 million in capital expenditures in the ensuing year, vice chairman Jonathan Weis told shareholders during the company’s annual shareholder meeting Tuesday.
“This year, we will increase our capital expenditure budget by 25% to $80 million,” Weis said. “We have 18 projects in active planning stages and expect to soon begin work on one replacement unit and a new store in the coming months. A substantial portion of our budget will go towards the upgrade of our information technology systems.”
