EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Zico Beverages announced the introduction of a new hydration alternative that contains half the calories of a regular fruit drink. The company's new Zico Chilled Premium Coconut Water and Juice Blends combines chilled coconut water with fruit juice.
The beverage packs just as much potassium as a banana, the company said, while offering 45% fewer calories than a fruit drink. It contains no added flavors or preservatives. The chilled juices also are dairy- and gluten-free and come in three varieties: Zico Chilled Orange Juice Blend, Zico Chilled Pineapple Mango Orange Juice Blend and Zico Natural Chilled Coconut Water.
“Zico Chilled Juices provide the best of both worlds — all the hydration benefits of coconut water and the taste of refreshing juice, without compromise,” said Lorna Peters, CMO for Zico. “In the ongoing pursuit of balanced, healthy living, Zico Chilled Juices are an easy, delicious way to incorporate conscious choices in your day.”
Zico's Chilled Juices are available in a 1.5-L Tetra Pak and retails for $7.99. When it launches, consumers can find the beverage in California, Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Colorado and Washington state. The company said it aims to extend nationally in the future.
