Allerpet incorporates Digimarc Barcodes into packaging

4/25/2016

BEAVERTON, Ore. - Digimarc on Monday announced that Allerpet, the creator of products to eliminate airborne pet dander and control dust mites, is incorporating Digimarc Barcodes into its product labeling. The addition of Digimarc Barcodes makes smartphone access by consumers to product and company information easier than ever.

"The Digimarc Intuitive Computing Platform provides an easy and natural avenue to improve the customer experience," stated John Fry, Allerpet's VP sales and marketing. "Utilizing Digimarc Barcodes in our product labeling is a natural extension of our commitment to providing customers with as much reliable and up to date information as possible. By incorporating the Digimarc Barcode, we seek to make it easier than ever for customers to connect with relevant information and get maximum value from our products."

"With the adoption of Digimarc Barcode, Allerpet is providing greater opportunities for customer engagement that will strengthen both product fluency and brand loyalty," added Larry Logan, chief marketing officer at Digimarc. "They understand that the easy and effective communication of information between brands and their customers is more important than ever before. We look forward to closely partnering with them to bring even more value to the Allerpet experience."

Allerpet products with Digimarc Barcode-enhanced labeling will be available in veterinarian clinics and pet stores starting in May 2016.

Digimarc Barcodes are not visible to consumers. They can be incorporated into virtually any form of media, including product packaging, without taking up any space such as with traditional UPC barcodes or QR codes. This capability allows Allerpet to use Digimarc Barcodes to deliver digital content to consumers' smartphones without competing for space with package graphics, marketing messages and regulatory information.

Consumers can scan Digimarc-enhanced product packaging using mobile apps powered by the Digimarc Discover software development kit. The Digimarc Discover app can be downloaded from Apple and Android app stores. The SDK is available for application developers to build and deploy mobile apps that can scan imperceptible Digimarc Barcodes in print, packaging and audio, as well as traditional UPC barcodes and QR codes.
