EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - BiPro USA on Monday announced that it has signed basketball sharpshooter Rachel Banham to an endorsement deal. Banham started using BiPro last year while rehabbing from a torn meniscus and torn anterior cruciate ligament.
"Nutrition is very important to me," Banham said. "Having other injuries in the past, it's been huge for me to stay healthy. Drinking BiPro is really going to help extend my career and help me be able to play basketball for as long as I can."
Banham rose to national prominence in February when she tied the NCAA's single-game scoring record with 60 points. She was featured in national newscasts and even got noticed by her childhood idol, Kobe Bryant.
"Congrats on the 60 @rachelbanham15 From what I've seen I don't think it will be the last time you hit that mark," Bryant posted on his Twitter profile @kobebryant after the game.
Banham followed that historic performance with a game-winning shot at the buzzer to best Iowa, which prompted another congratulatory tweet from Bryant. One week later, she broke the Big Ten scoring record in a 52-point effort against Michigan State.
Banham will be featured in local and national advertisements for BiPro, showing that high-quality whey protein is a valuable tool for male and female athletes alike.
"Rachel is the perfect person to represent BiPro," said Polly Olson, VP sales, marketing and new business development. "As a brand with strong roots in Minnesota, we're proud to support a Minnesota native like Rachel who will continue to be a great ambassador for our community."
BiPro USA is a consumer brand of Agropur.
