Carex expands online presence with new site
OAKLAND, Calif. Carex Health Brands last month introduced its new Carex Care Connection site, revamping its online presence at Carex.com in an effort to appeal to more caregivers.
On the site, consumers can learn a little bit more about the several assisted living devices sold by Carex, and also incorporates somewhat of a social media element — consumers who fill out the free registration will have the opportunity to share their stories and enjoy exclusive product discounts and giveaways.
“We wanted to get more involved in terms of connecting with our consumers, knowing it’s not just teenagers and younger people on Facebook,” Nathalie Kim, Carex VP marketing, shared with Drug Store News. Carex is even placing a cane in the Facebook waters, Kim said, with a Bed Buddy fan page. But our buyers are identifying their informational resources online, Kim said, be it a member of the sandwich generation caring for their children on one end and their parents on the other or a card-carrying AARP-member shopping for assisted living solutions for themselves.
In order to qualify for those exclusive product discounts and giveaways, indeed even to interact with the site, consumers have to opt in through a registration process. Not only does that mean Carex is germinating an active-consumer email contact list, it also means Carex is culminating demographic data about their consumers, including where they prefer to shop for their assisted living devices. That kind of poll data ought to quantify down the road what many suppliers of assisted living devices already know — consumers are checking in with independent and chain pharmacies for these kinds of products.
“We’re at the early stages of building a database,” Kim said.
Additional features and opportunities for online consumer interaction will be added to the site in the coming months, Kim said.
