Carmex contestant drains half-court shot, wins $75,000 and gets tackled by LeBron James
MIAMI — In a shot that made the rounds Friday on ESPN and other sports shows, Miami Heat fan Michael Drysch drained a half-court shot in the Carmex Half-Court Hero contest, netting $75,000 and getting tackled by Miami Heat superstar LeBron James.
In addition to winning $75,000 for himself, Drysch also scored a $75,000 donation for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Lebron James Family Foundation.
“We are thrilled to be part of this electrifying moment and to present checks for $75,000 to these wonderful organizations and to Mr. Drysch,” stated Mike Pietsch, EVP Carma Labs. and one of the check presenters as part of the official Carmex video. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Lebron James Family Foundation serve our communities in so many extraordinary ways; we are honored to support their wonderful programs.”
The half-court contest was a partnership between Carma Labs. and LebronJames.com.
As the winner of the Carmex Half-Court Hero contest, Drysch originally won a trip to Miami and the chance to take that half-court shot. The contest was open to participants via Facebook and Twitter. The Half-Court Hero event was the top prize in a promotional celebration of Carma Labs.' 75th anniversary. Carma Labs. has partnered with LeBronJames.com since 2011.
As part of the promotion, Friday was “Carmex Night” at the Miami Heat’s American Airlines Arena. Fans were given Carmex logo thundersticks to use during the game and were presented Carmex lip balm and Carmex skin care products as they left.
