CHPA elects P&G's Patrick Lockwood-Taylor as chairman

WASHINGTON — The Consumer Healthcare Products Association on Friday elected Patrick Lockwood-Taylor as chair during the association’s fall board meeting. Lockwood-Taylor serves as Procter & Gamble VP – Personal Health Care, North America, and Digestive Wellness Design. He succeeds James Mackey, SVP Bayer HealthCare.


 


"It’s a pivotal time for our industry, and our association is delighted to have a visionary like Patrick lead our board to continue the significant progress made under our outgoing chair, Jim Mackey,” CHPA president and CEO Scott Melville said. “Patrick is passionate about the role that over-the-counter medicines and supplements play in our nation’s evolving healthcare system, and he’s ideally suited to serve as chair at this time of opportunity and growth for our industry.”


 


Lockwood-Taylor added, “At a time of unprecedented change in the healthcare arena, there are now more opportunities than ever to unlock this industry’s growth potential and its contribution to the delivery of cost-effective healthcare. This can meaningfully improve the lives of American consumers."


 


During the fall board meeting, CHPA also elected three new members to its board of directors, including:


 



  • Julie Dillon, general manager, Professional Oral Care – North America, Colgate-Palmolive Company;


  • Akshay Shetty, co-CEO, Combe Incorporated; and


  • Suneet Varma, regional president, North America, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. 



Lockwood-Taylor joined P&G in Newcastle, U.K., in 1991. He moved through the P&G ranks serving in leadership positions in the U.K. and Western Europe, West Africa, Cincinnati, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, India, Korea and Japan. In 2009, he was promoted to VP Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Australasia, India, Korea and Japan Feminine Care and Asia Healthcare. In 2010, he was named VP North America Female, and, in parallel assumed the role of brand franchise leader for that business. In 2014, Lockwood-Taylor was named to his current role of VP – Personal Health Care, North America and Digestive Wellness Design.


 


In addition to his work at P&G, Lockwood-Taylor is involved in several local and international organizations, serving as VP of American Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce, and as chairman of Open Minds Charity. 


 


He is an avid runner and has participated in several marathons.
