The Council for Responsible Nutrition on Monday opened registration and shared speaker highlights for its annual industry events. Potential attendees now can register for The Workshop: CRN’s Day of Science and The Conference: CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry, which take place Nov. 6-9 at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, Calif.
CRN said this year’s conference theme is Destination: Vitality, meant to mark 25 years since the DSHEA was enacted and help attendees look forward to the next 25 years. Among the preliminary featured speakers are William Li, a physician and author who will discuss the connections he’s made between nutrition, disease prevention and health promotion, as well as Jeff Kreisler, an author and financial columnist who will help attendees understand what motivates people and how to drive change while shedding light on consumer supplement use and wellness regimens.
Also slated to speak are Anil Gupta and Haiyan Wang, who are experts on global trends and business strategies and co-authored the book “The Silk Road Rediscovered: How Indian and Chinese Companies are Becoming Globally Stronger By Winning in Each Other’s Markets.” They will discuss challenges and opportunities in the Chinese and Indian markets.
The Workshop will take place Nov. 6 and feature a networking reception meant to bring together The Workshop attendees with those attending The Conference, which begins Nov. 7 and will kick off an address from a representative from FDA. The Conference also will include group activities — including snorkeling, a catamaran cruise and CRN’s annual golf tournament — the Kyowa Hakko Fun Run and Walk, and a full day of sessions, an evening reception, dinner and entertainment. The final day will feature the "Breakfast With…" session, whose previous speakers have included Doris Kearns Goodwin, Joe Scarborough, Bob Woodward, and John Meacham.
CRN noted that there are four registration options — The Conference and The Workshop, The Workshop only, The Conference only and The Workshop and the first day of The Conference. Registration and more information can be found on the
CRN Events site.
