Dr. Canuso Skincare for Feet won the DSN/ECRM Buyers’ Choice award for its Foot Repair Serum during ECRM’s recent Health Care EPPS in Phoenix. Daily Body Restore was the finalist for its Probiotics with Digestive Enzymes.
The two companies, each of which are owned and operated by women, were selected from dozens of entries in the award program, samples of which were displayed in the ECRM hospitality area during the EPPS meetings. Buyers cast their votes based on product innovation and packaging.
“We love seeing the success of female entrepreneurs like the ones heading up our two winning companies,” said Judy Ard, vice president of health care at ECRM. “They’ve each developed unique and innovative products that meet very specific needs, and we’re thrilled to have them as part of our session.”
Marlton, N.J.-based Dr. Canuso Skincare for Feet’s products were developed by Dr. Dana Canuso, a podiatric surgeon and chemist. The foot care line was developed to bring together beauty and medicine, and treats such common complaints as dry, cracked heels and fungal toenails. Its products are clinically tested and safe for diabetics.
The company’s Foot Repair Serum is a breakthrough in foot care, treating dry cracked heels with an intensive moisturizing serum that contains an over-the-counter strength antifungal. Since a serum penetrates deeper than lotions or creams, the product offers fast results and gets rid of dry skin completely, while also preventing fungus and dry skin in the future, according to the company.
Milford, Mich.-based Daily Body Restore’s Probiotics with Digestive Enzymes was developed by CEO Kim Shafer after her daughter was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. It combines nine strains of probiotics to help support digestive and immune health with 10 digestive enzymes to help with the absorption of nutrients. The company’s products have been featured in peer-reviewed publications Oncotarget and the Journal of Translational Medicine.
