Dr. Reddy’s launches OTC store-brand Mucinex D extended-release tablets
Dr. Reddy’s is bringing its store-brand equivalent of Mucinex D extended-release tablets to market. The company recently launched the pseudoephedrine/guaifenesin combination in two dosage strengths.
The product is used to help loosen mucus and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more products and temporarily relieve nasal congestion, restore freer breathing through the nose, promote sinus drainage and relieve sinus congestion and pressure.
"We are excited to bring first to market the store-brand equivalent of Mucinex D Maximum Strength extended-release Tablets. These launches illustrate our continued commitment to the OTC business and our growing portfolio in the cough, cold and allergy category,” said Milan Kalawadia, Dr. Reddy’s senior vice president and head of U.S. OTC and specialty Rx divisions.
The product’s branded and store-brand products saw $71 million in U.S. sales for the year ended May 2019, according to IRI data. It is available in dosage strengths of 600 mg guaifenesin/60 mg pseudoephedrine and 1200 mg guaifenesin/120 mg pseudoephedrine.
