Dr. Smith's urges parents to #ReachfortheDoctor to solve summer diaper rash

6/15/2016

SAN ANTONIO - Dr. Smith's on Tuesday launched a summer campaign to urge parents to "Reach for the Doctor." The #ReachfortheDoctor campaign aims to arm parents with tips and tricks to be prepared if their babies should develop a diaper rash.

According to Kristie Rivers, board-certified pediatrician at Bundoo, "Babies are more susceptible to diaper rash during the summer months thanks to the heat, humidity and wet diapers." Additionally, during summer months, babies sweat more causing wetness to build up in the diaper area. Long-distance travel can make it difficult to frequently change a diaper, and babies are drinking more fluids to stay hydrated, meaning the possibility of more wet diapers.

One helpful summer tip is to try and prevent diaper rash before it starts by applying Dr. Smith's at every diaper change. The product creates a moisture barrier that helps keep skin dry and soothed through both a tried and true ointment made with a creamy blend of premium ingredients to a convenient, touch-free zinc oxide spray.
