Drugstore.com reaches international consumers
BELLEVUE, Wash. Drugstore.com on Wednesday announced that it is now shipping to customers in China, India and Brazil, along with 50 additional countries worldwide. More than 3.5 billion international customers can shop for nonprescription health, beauty and wellness products on http://international.drugstore.com with pricing in their local currency, the online druggist stated.
"Drugstore.com is now a leading source for international customers to purchase health, beauty and wellness products from the U.S. and we plan to increase our global market penetration in the coming year," stated David Lonczak, VP and chief marketing officer for Drugstore.com. "With current exchange rates, this is an ideal time for international customers to buy American products."
Drugstore.com launched its international service to customers in Canada and Europe, representing a total of 34 countries in November 2008. In the past year the company has increased its availability to 53 countries including Japan, Australia, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Mexico and the Philippines.
