Houston, Texas-based health products maker Global Healing Center is looking to give consumers with vegan diets a B-12 supplement option.
The company’s VeganSafe B-12 is a USDA Certified Organic supplement that also is gluten- and GMO-free, offering a supplementation option for vegans and the roughly 30% of adults over 50 years old who are unable to absorb B-12 in food.
“There are only a few foods that are a good, natural source of B-12 and most are not vegan-friendly,” said Dr. Edward Group, founder and CEO of Global Healing Center. “As a result, many people have a B-12 deficiency, and many others are borderline.”
The product contains methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, which the company said create the most bioactive forms of B-12, suspended in a vegetable glycerin and triple-distilled water base. The company said VeganSafe B-12 does not require conversion by the liver, making it a highly absorbable form of the vitamin.
Global Healing Center was founded by Dr. Group in 1998 and remains family-owned and -operated. Its products focus on eliminating unnecessary ingredients, binders, fillers and toxic compounds.
