SANDY, Utah — Honey Naturals last week started offering parents a free bottle of Zarbee’s children’s cough syrup in exchange for a Facebook photo of them discarding a competitive brand of cough syrup.
The exchange was launched in response to a recent C.S. Mott Children's Hospital national poll on children's health, which found 61% of parents of children ages 6 months to 2 years gave over-the-counter cough-cold medicines to their children within the last 12 months, despite a 2008 warning issued by the Food and Drug Administration against the use of OTC cough-cold products for infants and children under 2 years of age.
After posting that photo here on the Zarbee Facebook page, parents can mail a receipt for a reimbursement of the purchase. The promotion runs through Feb. 25.
Zarbee’s children’s cough syrup combines a blend of buckwheat and wildflower honeys with other all-natural ingredients to calm coughs.
