Hyland's, a producer of homeopathic medicines, announced that it's Baby Oral Pain Relief tablets would now available at Walgreens and additional Walmart stores, in addition to its previous lineup of retail stores.
Shoppers can find the tablets on the shelves of 1,5000 Walmart locations and 5,900 Walgreens locations. Since its initial launch in 2018, the product has also seen availability at Amazon and at CVS, Rite-Aid, and Target stores across the nation.
The tablets, which are easily dissolved in the mouth, work to relieve oral pain symptoms such as swollen gums, sensitive teeth, and overall oral discomfort in babies ages two and under, the company said.
Hyland's Baby Oral Pain Relief tablets are newly formulated and free of belladonna, benzocaine, artificial dyes, flavors, and parabens. This formula contains natural active ingredients and is safe and gentle. The oral pain medicine retails for $9.49 for a 125 count and is also sold in a nighttime version.
The product is meant to relieve a broad range of oral pain symptoms, rather than the narrower symptom picture treated by Hyland's baby teething tablets, which were discontinued in 2016, and later recalled in 2017 at the request of the FDA, which had concerns about a labeling issue and belladonna.
Hyland's stands by the safety of its teething products; neither Hyland's nor the FDA found amounts of the homeopathically-prepared belladonna beyond the company's established safety threshold. Despite the trust in its medicine's safety, Hyland's no longer includes the active ingredient, Belladonna in its products to provide parents more peace of mind, the company said.
"People come to our brand because they are looking for a gentle, safe choice made with natural ingredients," Hyland’s president, Les Hamilton said.
