CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Eco Lips, a lip balm company specializing in certified organic lip balm products, on Wednesday announced a new charitable initiative with Pencils of Promise, a for-purpose organization founded in 2008 that to date has built more than 360 schools and provided access to education to more than 33,000 students throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Through the partnership, Eco Lips will donate 1% of branded sales to Pencils of Promise, with the goal of building a school within a select country.
"Our company is driven by passionate people and philanthropic principles. This is a collective investment within our company, as the partnership with PoP will truly impact both the Eco Lips team as well as the young people receiving the educational opportunities within their country," stated Steve Shriver, president Eco Lips.
This joint venture aligns with both organizations' core values. "Our PoP family is comprised of an incredible group of partners who support PoP. Teaming up with Eco Lips is especially exciting for us, as we both share a common goal of creating and sustaining educational opportunities for students around the world," said Natalie Ebel, director marketing Pencils of Promise.
