Mark Shapiro named president and CEO of Gladson

1/16/2008

LISLE, Ill. Gladson Interactive last week named Mark Shapiro, a 25-year veteran of the consumer packaged goods industry, its new president and chief executive officer.

“Gladson Interactive has been serving the CPG industry for three decades, and I’m excited about the even greater opportunities that are on the horizon,” Shapiro said. “Our database of over 900,000 product images and package dimensions has long been a key element in effective shelf space management. As internet shopping has exploded in recent years, e-retailers of all types have begun using the Gladson universal database to build their online stores and keep their product offerings up to date. I think we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of being able to meet the needs of today’s customers.”

Shapiro succeeds Mike Spindler.

Shapiro comes to Gladson from the New England Consulting Group where he was a partner and a member of the CPG, food service and over-the-counter pharmaceutical global practice teams. Previously, Shapiro spent 19 years at the Quaker Oats Co.
