MedHelp launches diabetes management platform for Apple Watch

READING, Mass. — MedHelp,the consumer division of Physicians Interactive, on Thursday announced that the company's diabetes management platform now allows individuals to track blood glucose levels on the Apple Watch. 


 


“Half of all American adults have diabetes or prediabetes, according to the most recent data, and one in every five healthcare dollars is now spent on diabetes care,” Physicians Interactive’s consumer division president John de Souza said. “Deploying new tools that improve how we manage diabetes is a logical and important step - and MedHelp is dedicated to creating effective solutions for our partners on the front lines of battling the diabetes epidemic.”


 


With the release of MedHelp's Sugar Sense app for Apple Watch, users can display their glucose readings from their wrists, helping them better understand their condition and stay within their blood glucose targets. 


 


MedHelp's diabetes management platform includes a Sugar Sense blood glucose tracking app that is integrated with Apple HealthKit, enabling access to data shared by third parties and collected through the Apple Health app, data streaming from continuous glucose monitors and integration with glucometers, smart scales, popular consumer wearables and other fitness and weight management devices.
