Moberg Pharma closes acquisition of 3 Prestige Brands OTCs

STOCKHOLM - Moberg Pharma on Friday announced that the acquisition of three over-the-counter brands from Prestige Brands has been completed as part of a deal worth $40 million.


The acquired portfolio includes New Skin, a leading OTC liquid bandage brand that kills germs and dries rapidly to form a clear protective cover. In addition to New Skin, the acquired portfolio also contains two mature brands, Fiber Choice and PediaCare. Fiber Choice focuses on digestive health while PediaCare has a strong equity among moms, primarily within cough cold and analgesics segments, Moberg reported.


The acquired brands will be sold through Moberg’s current OTC channel in the U.S, primarily in retail pharmacies including CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart and Walgreens and the OTC section in Target.


In a separate release, Prestige Brands noted that proceeds from the sale will be used to pay down debt and accelerate de-leveraging.
