RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - NBTY on Thursday appointed four senior executives to its management team who will spearhead strategic growth initiatives for the company's branded businesses.

Derek Bowen (pictured left) has been named SVP, general manager for vitamins, minerals, herbals and supplements. Bowen, who joins NBTY from Coty Beauty U.S., will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans for all of NBTY's US Nutrition VMHS brands, including Nature's Bounty, Sundown Naturals, Osteo Bi-Flex and Ester-C, with full profit and loss accountability. As SVP marketing for Coty, Derek was responsible for managing volume and profit for the U.S. cosmetic and fragrance portfolios. Bowen has 20 years of experience in building and marketing well-known brands at consumer products companies such as Unilever, Sara Lee, Dial and P&G.
Bradley Charron (pictured right) was named SVP general manager for sports and active nutrition. Charron will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans for all the company's sports and active nutrition brands, such as MET-Rx, Pure Protein, Body Fortress and Balance Bar, with full profit and loss accountability. Charron brings 15 years' experience with him to NBTY, most recently with Chobani, where he served as their SVP marketing. Prior to that, Charron held senior leadership positions with Under Armour, PepsiCo and Liz Claiborne.
Andre Branch has joined NBTY as chief marketing officer, where he will lead consumer and customer marketing efforts, as well as focus on strategies to further build NBTY's trusted and high-quality brands, including Nature's Bounty, Sundown Naturals, Ester-C, Solgar and Osteo Bi-Flex. This will include developing the strategy, building brand and product roadmaps and developing a robust innovation pipeline that leverages consumer data, shopper insights and various media platforms. Branch brings more than 20 years of brand-building experience to the role from companies including Kraft Foods, Diageo and, most recently, L'Oreal.
Additionally, the company has promoted Jill Staib into a newly created position, VP strategic initiatives and private label. In this role she will focus on identifying and capturing value from both operational and market based opportunities and executing plans for NBTY's private label business, among other things.
