WASHINGTON, N.H. – Q-In Medical Technologies earlier this month introduced its new SayAhh! Sore Throat Home Exam Aid, an oral retractor that relaxes the tongue, minimizes the gag reflex and increases visibility of the throat in an effort to better examine the throat area and report these observations to a healthcare provider.
According to the company, SayAhh! is great for anyone with a strong gag reflex and is ideal for parents of school-age children who often struggle with knowing when to call the doctor. The device is recommended for use in children over the age of six.
In addition to the oral retractor and flashlight, the SayAhh! system offers an online health management resource and an App available in the Apple App Store. The SayAhh! system also includes an illustrated chart with clear pictures and descriptions of six common childhood throat ailments, providing the user a solid basis for comparison to what should be seen in a normal throat.
“The angles and curves provide true control of the tongue, which helps improve visibility, and the unique curvatures and retraction ridges on the underside help to minimize the gag reflex,” stated Gil Mettler, president Q-In Medical Technologies.
Created as an examination aid and not for the purpose of diagnosis, the SayAhh! package retails for a suggested $9.49. The SayAhh! Sore Throat Home Exam Aid will be rolling out in select drug stores in late 2015, the company noted.
