Quest Nutrition brings breakfast flavors to protein offerings

7/31/2018
With recent insights from DSM  and the Hartman group highlighting consumer desire for breakfast options that fit a busy lifestyle, Quest Nutrition is looking to deliver breakfast flavors with its protein products. The company on Tuesday announced the introduction of its Maple Waffle Protein Bar and Cold Brew Coffee Latte Protein Powder, which it said were formulated to be low in net carbs and sugar.

“We've taken two of the most popular breakfast flavors and turned them into convenient options that meet our consumers’ health goals,” Quest Nutrition chief marketing officer Suzanne Ginestro said. “Maple is increasingly trending across food and beverage categories, and cold brew has grown 460% in recent years,” said Suzanne Ginestro, chief marketing officer at Quest Nutrition, citing a recent DSM trend study and a 2017 Mintel report on coffee sales. “We're on a quest to create better versions of craveable foods and beverages, and now people can enjoy these flavors throughout the day, without compromising on nutritional value.”

The Maple Waffle bar includes waffle-like pieces and a caramel swirl the company said is meant to evoke syrup. It has 20 g of protein, 16 g of fiber, 5 g of net carbs and 1 g of sugar. The Cold Brew Coffee Latte powder includes cold brew extract and 24 g of protein, 3 g of net carbs and less than 1 g of sugar, Quest Nutrition said.

The recent launches join other recent introductions from Quest Nutrition, including Quest Protein Cookies, Quest tortilla Style Protein Chips and Quest Thin Crust Pizza. They are available at select retailers and the company’s website.
