Walgreens tells Vitamin Angels story in YouTube series

2/27/2015

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Thursday posted two new videos on its YouTube channel promoting its exclusive relationship with Vitamin Angels.

The videos focus on interviews with mothers who help give real-life perspective to the critical importance of the Vitamin Angels program, which brings essential vitamins to at-risk populations in need, specifically, pregnant women, new moms and children under five years old.

"Every mom wants their kids to be healthy and strong. But when you're choosing between gas and paying the rent, and vitamins, you're probably going to choose gas and paying the rent," Katlyn, the mother of a toddler tells the camera in a video, titled, Katlyn's Story. "Every kid should have access to vitamins regardless of their parent's situation."

Last summer, Walgreens extended its Vitamin Angeles partnership through 2017. Walgreens and its vitamin brand partners will donate 1% of retail sales from vitamin purchases of participating brands to Vitamin Angels.

Walgreens and Vitamin Angels have generated enough funds to help more than 37.5 million children to date. By 2017, the two organizations aim to reach 100 million children and mothers in over 40 countries worldwide.
