UMBAI, BALTIMORE and BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons and Lupin Pharmaceuticals announced a new partnership that would bring Lupin’s InspiraChamber to all of Albertsons’ banner pharmacies as the retailer’s preferred inhaled aerosol therapy chamber.
The holding chamber will be available at the more than 1,7000 pharmacies in the 35 states that Albertsons operates, the companies said.
“Our partnership with Albertsons Companies is one of many initiatives Lupin Pharmaceuticals is taking to provide better access to the only valved holding chamber with a pacifier-ready mask that enhances the delivery of aerosol therapy,” Lupin president Paul McGarty said. “We continually strive to combine the latest technology with an ease of use design for patients and we're excited to be able to offer it to Albertsons Companies patients.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1-in-13 people have asthma. The InspiraChamber is designed to minimize the time it takes to administer asthma medications, Lupin said.
“We're excited to partner with Lupin to provide this tool to our patients,” Albertsons group VP pharmacy services Dan Salemi said. “We see our relationship with Lupin as a way to bring innovative, high-quality products that are easy to use and proven in managing health conditions to our shoppers. Making InspiraChamber our preferred chamber is another way to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the highest level of patient care.”
