AmerisourceBergen’s US Bioservices gets CPPA accreditation

6/23/2017

WASHINGTON — The Center for Pharmacy Practice Accreditation has awarded specialty pharmacy US Bioservices, a part of AmerisourceBergen, its specialty pharmacy practice accreditation, the organization announced Friday.

“We understand that patients who need a specialty medication also need specialized care,” US Bioservices president Kelly Ratliff said. “This accreditation is a tribute to our associates and their unwavering commitment to delivering integrated, high-touch clinical care to patients and caregivers every day. Our leadership team continues to align all of our decisions and investments around that core responsibility—improving lives through high quality care.”

CPPA said that its mission is unique among accreditors for its focus on serving public health by raising the level of pharmacy-delivered patient care services through accreditation. It said that it recognizes practices among pharmacy providers that foster medication safety and effectiveness and can ensure continuous quality improvement while still delivering on outcomes.

US Bioservices has been around for more than 20 years, offering support and dispensing services for patients who need specialty medications. The company collaborates with a patient’s care team to optimize patient support and therapy coordination.

“Part of providing exceptional patient care is the continued process of looking inward and evaluating how we can evolve and improve,” US Bioservices director of accreditation, regulatory affairs and quality DeAndra Jones said. “We are proud that our patient satisfaction rating has a historical average of 99%, and we remain committed to raising the level of service and care that we provide through our specialty pharmacy practice.”

US Bioservices, as a part of AmerisourceBergen, said that it possesses the stability and infrastructure of a global organization while still being able to provide patient care and clinical expertise commonly found at independent specialty pharmacies.

“Ensuring that specialty pharmacies provide services that help patients achieve desired, cost-effective outcomes is a key component of CPPA’s specialty pharmacy accreditation,” CPPA Chairman and APhA EVP and CEO Thomas Menighan said. “CPPA’s accreditation of US Bioservices provides an important recognition that its pharmacy services support these goals.”
