Amneal expands sales, distribution in Kentucky
FRANKFORT, Ky. Generic drug maker Amneal Pharmaceuticals plans to invest more than $6.6 million in its sales and distribution center in Glasgow, Ky., the office of Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear announced.
The company employs 35 people in the state and plans to create 48 new jobs at the center, consolidating logistics and sales operations into a 115,000-sq.-ft. facility. The center will combine distribution from those on Long Island in New York and in Fountain Run, Ky. Part of the reason for the expansion is that the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority gave preliminary approval for $2.5 million in tax incentives for the company.
“The success of our existing industries is a vital part of our economic recovery, and Amneal’s growth will have a tremendous impact, helping to move our economy forward,” Beshear said.
