NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Astellas USA Foundation on Wednesday announced that it had named a new president. Moyra Knight, a member of the foundation's advisory committee, will take the helm, succeeding outgoing president Jeffrey Winton, who has led the organization since 2014. Winton will continue his role as Astellas SVP corporate affairs.
"Astellas USA Foundation is committed to supporting programs and partners that cultivate healthy, educated and resilient communities," said Winton. "Moyra's more than 20 years of experience in volunteerism, public-private partnerships, CSR and philanthropy will continue to build upon the Foundation's mission."
The foundation has three philanthropic pillars: a focus on health and well-being, with a focus on access; “Science WoRx,” which supports science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) enrichment programming; and disaster response.
"Astellas USA Foundation enriches lives throughout the Americas, often during a time of greatest need," said Knight. "We will continue to advance Astellas USA Foundation's mission by strengthening communities and helping individuals to thrive. I am honored to be selected for this new role."
The foundation’s programming will continue to be led by Robin Andrews, who will now report to Knight.
