Ateb announces it tested 4 med sync QIIs on behalf of PQA

 

RALEIGH, N.C. — Pharmacy technology solutions company Ateb on Tuesday announced that it was one of two companies selected to test four medication synchronization quality improvement indicators (QIIs) on behalf of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA). 

 

Ateb’s analytics team assisted in feasibility and validity testing of performance indicators facilitating PQA’s approval of the four new QIIs. Ateb said the measurements would enable pharmacists to increase engagement my aligning medication refills to help patients manage chronic conditions.

Ateb said the QIIs initiative showed that its analytics and measurement platform allows for reporting and leveraging of available pharmacy data, enabling pharmacies to use it effectively and demonstrate the connection between adherence and health outcomes. 

 

"Research related to medication synchronization has shown these programs are becoming one of community pharmacies' best practices," said PQA Executive Director Laura Cranston. "Medication synchronization programs are intended to improve patient adherence to chronic medications. These quality improvement indicators will help pharmacies to assess improvement points inside of their med sync operations to make their programs even better."

 

Ateb’s executives contribute to PQA’s Stakeholder Advisory Panels and are involved in various PQA Measure Development teams. The company’s executive healthcare strategist, Rebecca Chater, is the co-chair of PQA’s Immunization Task Force.
