NEW YORK — Pharmacy technology solutions company Ateb and Medicare plan comparison software maker iMedicare on Thursday announced a new partnership that will integrate iMedicare into Ateb’s Patient Management Access Portal. The integration will allow pharmacies to facilitate viewing and comparing Medicare plan options so patients can choose the best one for them during the Medicare Part D enrollment process, the companies said.
“We are excited to integrate iMedicare into Ateb’s PMAP platform to provide pharmacies with a single platform to manage their patients,” Ateb CEO Frank Sheppard said. “By delivering the right tools and resources, our pharmacy partners can improve their business and offer additional methods to enrich patient care. Our pharmacy partners now have direct access to perform third party plan comparisons, which in turn will continue to drive revenue and improve patient medication adherence, resulting in healthier patient outcomes.”
Ateb has been collecting, analyzing and tracking patient data and the third-party plans patients are enrolled in, and the partnership with iMedicare, which has been analyzing Medicare Part D plan and pharmacy data, is aimed at making it easier for pharmacies to identify closed data and help patients select plans best suited for their needs. Ateb said that the integration will allow pharmacies to focus on Star Ratings for specific third-party plans, opening more opportunities for reimbursement.
“In a world of DIR [direct and indirect remuneration] fees and dozens of Star Rating measures, data intelligence and data accuracy are a must-have,” iMedicare co-founder and cEO Flaviu Simihaian said. “Thousands of pharmacies across the country rely on Ateb and iMedicare to deliver the right data intelligence at the right time. This integration enables pharmacies to impact more patients in much less time.”
